April 2nd - Spring Pick-Up

Hello Everyone,

Welcome to Spring (even if the weather might not feel like it)!

1. Pick-Up nights are now on Tuesdays at Wellington Secondary School from 5:30 to 8:30 (if the light and our legs last that long!).

2. There is also an Open night that can be used for practices, skills clinics or more goaltie and Ultimate on Thursdays at Wellington Secondary School from 5:30 to 8:30.

3. Goaltie is still happening on Sundays at Woodlands Secondary School fields from 9:45 to 12, watch for the evite!

March 31st - Udderbowl is Full!

NUA has some good and bad news. Good news is that Udderbowl is full. We are loaded up with some awesome competition.

Bad news is that Udderbowl is full. If your team was dragging there feet about getting that deposit in you are going to have to wait until next year.

Teatbowl (the spirit pool) has room for one more team so if you are considering throwing a team in I would suggest getting your deposit in ASAP!

March 4th - Spring Newsletter!

Hello Everyone!

Spring is rapidly approaching and with it lots of updates from Nanaimo Ultimate.

1. Udderbowl – the first Ultimate tournament of the year is in Nanaimo on April 21/22 and as hosts we could definitely use some volunteers. There is also a spirit team being formed, so if you’d like to get some more information for either contact Tod or Patty.

2. Indoor – the last night for indoor is Friday, March 30! It’s been a great year for this new venue and we look forward to picking it up again in the fall. A big thanks to Cheryl and Laura H. for getting this off the ground and running it during the year.

3. Spring Pick-Up – with the days getting longer and warmer we’re making the switch from nights to evenings! Our last night at Merle Logan fields on Wednesdays is March 28 and starting on Tuesday, April 3 we move to Woodlands Secondary School fields from 5:30pm to 8pm. (the same place we play Goaltie on Sundays).

4. Summer League – Registration is now open for Summer League!! Email us if you’re interested in signing up a team or registering as a singles player. Deadline for team registration is May 22.

5. Goaltimate – continues throughout the spring and summer on Sundays from 10am to 12 at Woodlands Secondary School fields.

6. Annual Fees – Beginning in April you can pay the NUA yearly fee! This is a great deal for anyone looking to play Ultimate during the year and an excellent way to support your Nanaimo Ultimate community. For $100 you’re covered for Goaltimate all year, Winter and Spring Pick-up, Indoor during the winter and the Fall Hat League! If you paid all the separate fees this would be a $225 value. Cheques can be made out to the Nanaimo Ultimate Association and can be given to Geoff. You can also pay here.

Spring Ultimate is here!

Welcome to 2012! We are currently playing Ultimate under the lights at Merle Logan fields, Wednesday nights from 8:30 to 10:00. We also play indoor Ulti at NDSS on Friday nights starting at 7. AND there's Goaltimate every Sunday at Woodlands Fields from 10:00 am until noon. Come out and play!

Udderbowl 2012 is coming!

Nanaimo Ultimate Association is excited to announce news of the up coming 16th annual Udderbowl Ultimate Frisbee Tournament to be held at McGirr Fields in Nanaimo BC on April 21st – 22nd 2012. There will be more details to come as we get closer to the tournament. This is what we can share with you now.

There will be two separate tournaments on the same weekend. One will be our established Udderbowl tournament and the second will be a “Spirited” tournament aimed at newer teams and players. This will provide more even games at both levels and open up the tournament to more players.

As usual our Udderbowl planning committee is working on putting together an awesome party. More details to come soon.

Cost for Udderbowl will be $45 per person. A $100 deposit is required to hold your team. Cheque can be made to NUA and mailed to #18 Doric Ave Nanaimo BC V9R 3N1. Payments will soon be available on line on our website www.nanaimoultimate.ca.
